On Cheers tonight - Sam Malone: We've been together for 14 years. We're no longer demonstrative. (Explaining to Rebecca why he won't kiss Leon, his "lover" - the infamous Plan Z in action)
My son: They've been in a monster truck?
Me: Yes, honey. A monster truck.
Guess that CT scan for his ears isn't such a bad idea after all.
Heh. And there was NO WAY I was gonna attempt to explain anything to my son after a long, hot, busy day and so late in the evening. That discussion is better left to a day when he's in a peppy chatty mood.

And yes, I agree... I wouldn't go explaining anything either!!!
CT scan for the ears might be a good idea if he's young. I lost an ear drum years ago. Bad ear infection. It healed up but tipped and leans on one of the bones in the ear with about 40% hearing loss. Words and noises get garbled a lot but it would take a lot to fix it, (long story). In the mean time, what I hear in conversations (similar to your childs) is a lot more entertaining than what was actually said.
