Most of the Friday Five have sucked lately and I haven't bothered. I liked this one!
1. What's the last place you traveled to, outside your own home state/country?
Oregon. One of the best trips ever!
2. What's the most bizarre/unusual thing that's ever happened to you while traveling?
Anything that happened in Florida.
3. If you could take off to anywhere, money and time being no object, where would you go?
Australia. It's been on my list since I was 10. I think it's about damn time I got to go, too.
4. Do you prefer traveling by plane, train or car?
I love to fly. I started flying when I was quite young and have always enjoyed it. But, there's something really satisfying about a road trip....probably the fact that when driving - you see something interesting and you can stop and fully explore....
5. What's the next place on your list to visit?
I'd love to say Australia. Reality says someplace closer to home. Probably Arizona or Texas. I would love to take a trip to Texas!
Oooh, make it a road trip to Texas and I'd join you guys! Can you imagine Right Wing Texan's face when we knock on his door unannounced??!!
Posted by: Moxie at August 7, 2003 11:35 PMDagnabbit Goddess, I see you roaming around the net, and I keep missin you!
Road trips are always the ticket! I need to ride back to New England this fall. And as for Austrailia, I would love to go see "youknowwhoatthezoo" but I doubt that will ever happen. :-(
Posted by: The Blog Hunter at August 8, 2003 03:57 AMAhhh, Australia . . . wanna know how close I got to that dream once? Pull out your map or atlas . . .
My dad got a project out in Indonesia when I was 15, and we were living on the east end of Timor, and for the life of me, I can't remember the name of the town now. We were supposed to visit Darwin for our 'medical break'. But they shipped us home a few months early instead.
I was devastated. So close, yet so far. Oh well, one of these days, I'll make it over there, and without the encumberance of parents to worry about! =)
Posted by: ang at August 8, 2003 07:13 AMIf you go to Texas and don't visit Oklahoma I'm going to be bitterly disappointed.
Either that or we should have a bloggers meetup in Dallas.
Posted by: Cam at August 8, 2003 08:14 AMOh gee Joan I was hoping you would want to come to Iowa and go on a watch the corn grow road trip with me!
Posted by: karen at August 8, 2003 12:59 PMI love Texas. I lived in Houston for a few years and didn't care for it much there though. Too much congestion and humidity. But I did get to travel around the state a lot for my job there. I like Austin, Corpus Christi and San Antonio the best.
Posted by: MarcL at August 8, 2003 02:28 PMWhat was "bizarre" about Florida?
Posted by: Acidman at August 8, 2003 04:54 PMTexas! Yes! Texas is where you want to go next!
Posted by: dragonfly jenny at August 10, 2003 04:56 PMSan Antonio, baby!
