A Reason

It's why I work in Pediatrics.

It's is why I choose to play sometimes, with my own child, when I could be off working an extra shift.

It's is why I laugh and cry and shout and smile and hurt and love and breathe.

This says it all.

The author, and his son's story, can be found here.

My daughter just started her peds clinicals, and loves it. She's been assigned two babies, who she says are good babies. They never cry, unlike the other student nurses' babies. I rather suspect it's because of her, not the babies. Like you, she's got "the touch".

I only hope she can be half the compassionate, caring nurse you are.

Reading something like that makes me think about a lot of things as well.

Thank you for that healthy slice of perspective pie. I'm almost out of Kleenex - time to raid the supply cabinet...

That's why I work with autistic children, too. Thanks for sharing that link, I would've never found it otherwise.

That little Daniel is adorable. Reading thoses stories on that site made all of my problems seem insignificant and produced a few tears.

I feel a strong urge to say a little prayer.

Goddess,

Thanks so much for the job that you do, and I'm glad you were able to discover Daniel. I talked to Bobby yesterday and they're headed to Memphis next week to begin harvesting stem cells for the transplant.

There's a pretty good chance their second transplant is not going to be covered by insurance. I think maybe you and I should put our heads together (with any other willing bloggers) about doing something online to help raise money. What do you think?
