Mikey's Truck
Mrs. Mikey snapped these photos yesterday when she went down to look at Mikey's truck. The last photo is the passenger side of the vehicle without its door. There was no door left. And the bed of the truck was obviously thrown completely out of whack. The photo with the airbag doesn't show enough for you to tell that the jaws of life were used to extract Mikey, but even still, it doesn't look pretty.

Well, obviously i missed all this, but after reading down the blog - Blimey.
I don't know "the Mikeys" but they're close to you so I'm VERY glad everything turned out about as well as icould be expected.

Speaking from professional experience of this kind of wreck - and of extracting the victims - Mikey is incredibly lucky. Not only that his guardian angel probably just earned the angelic equivalent of the Order of Merit. It looks as if the combination of crumple-zones and airbags absorbed at least some of the impact, but the state of the chassis suggests that whatever hit him was either very large or moving at one hell of a lick.
The rescue services did a good job getting him out in one piece - a really professional extraction.
